What is Bland AI?
Bland AI is a voice agent platform built for high call volumes: sales calls, appointment reminders, support lines and call centers. You design calls with "Conversational Pathways," a visual flow of what the agent should say and do.
Bland's pricing pitch is simple: one rate per minute that already includes the AI model, speech-to-text and the voice. There are no token charges and no model pass-through costs.

Start has no platform fee and costs $0.14 per minute of talk time. Build costs $299 a month and lowers the rate to $0.12. Transfer time (after the AI hands the call to a person) is $0.05 per minute on Start and $0.04 on Build.
Build only saves money once you pass about 14,950 minutes a month, since that is where the $0.02 per minute saving covers the $299 fee. Below that, Start is cheaper. Build also lifts the call caps from 100 to 2,000 calls a day and from 10 to 50 concurrent calls, which is often the real reason to upgrade.
Phone carrier minutes are separate. You can bring your own Twilio account or SIP trunk, or use Bland's Twilio at pass-through cost. We add Twilio's US inbound list price of $0.0085 per minute as an estimate.

Bland's total does not change with the model, because the model is included. That makes it predictable, but at the low end it can cost more than tools where you pick a cheap model.
What hidden costs should you watch for?
- Daily caps. Start stops at 100 calls a day and 100 calls an hour. A busy outbound campaign will hit this fast.
- Transfer minutes. If the AI often hands calls to staff, transfer minutes add up.
- Features locked to Enterprise. SMS, web chat, the scheduling node, warm transfers and BAA for HIPAA are listed for Enterprise only.
- Carrier costs. Your phone provider bills you directly unless you use Bland's Twilio.
