What is Synthflow?

Synthflow is an AI voice agent platform for mid-size and large companies. Its agents answer and make calls, route callers, book appointments and hand off to people, and it connects to contact-center systems, CRMs and phone systems like Zoom Phone. Synthflow says it powers over a million calls a day in more than 30 countries.

Synthflow used to sell self-serve plans to small businesses and agencies. That has changed, which matters for cost planning.

How much does Synthflow cost?

Synthflow is now sold only as an annual enterprise agreement. Its pricing page says there is no free plan, no trial and no per-minute rate. Each contract is scoped to your call volume and concurrency, your phone system, your integrations, security and procurement needs, and launch support. There is no separate agency plan; white-label options are added inside the contract.

Because there are no public numbers, our calculator shows Synthflow as "Custom pricing" instead of guessing.

What a Synthflow contract covers

  • Call routing, escalation, handoffs and fallback logic, with concurrency planned for your volume.
  • Synthflow Native Telephony, SIP trunking or approved enterprise phone systems.
  • CRM, calendar, contact-center, webhook, API and knowledge integrations.
  • MSA/DPA support and security review.
  • Launch support by forward-deployed engineers, where the agreement includes it.

What is included, and what is not?

What is included depends on your contract. Before you sign, ask in writing whether these are in the price:

  • The AI model and voice, or whether they are billed per use.
  • Phone numbers and call minutes.
  • Concurrency limits and what happens above them.
  • Setup and launch work, and ongoing changes after launch.
  • Compliance items like a HIPAA BAA (Synthflow lists SOC 2 Type 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA and GDPR coverage).

How to compare a Synthflow quote

The simplest way to judge a quote is to turn it into a cost per minute and compare it with self-serve tools. Here is what the same receptionist (3-minute calls, 22 working days, no buffer) costs per month on three pay-as-you-go platforms:

Calls per dayVapiRetell AIBland AI
40$217$309$392
150$814$1,158$1,470
500$2,713$3,861$4,540

Divide your Synthflow annual price by 12, then by your expected minutes per month. If that number is well above these tools, the contract needs to earn it through integrations, launch support, uptime promises or compliance you would otherwise pay for.

What hidden costs should you watch for?

  • Annual commitment. You pay for a year even if call volume drops.
  • Overage terms. Ask what happens if you go over the contracted volume.
  • Change requests. Check whether later changes to agents and flows are included or billed.

How to get a better Synthflow price

  1. Bring real numbers to the scoping call: minutes per month, peak concurrent calls and integrations.
  2. Get a quote from at least one self-serve platform to compare.
  3. Ask for volume tiers so your price per minute drops as you grow.
  4. Ask whether a shorter first term or pilot is possible.

What are the main Synthflow alternatives?

Who is Synthflow best for?

Good fit

  • Mid-size and large companies running many calls a day
  • Teams that want vendor engineers to launch the agent with them
  • Businesses with strict security reviews

Not the best fit

  • Small businesses and freelancers testing their first voice agent
  • Anyone who needs a free trial or monthly plan

What are the key Synthflow features?

  • Enterprise call handling: Routing, escalation, handoffs and fallback logic.
  • Telephony options: Synthflow Native Telephony, SIP trunking or approved enterprise phone systems like Zoom Phone.
  • Integrations: CRM, calendar, contact-center, webhook, API and knowledge sources.
  • Compliance: SOC 2 Type 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA and GDPR coverage.
  • Launch support: Forward-deployed engineers can build, test and launch with your team.

How do you set up Synthflow?

The steps below show the general setup. Button names change often, so follow the idea of each step rather than exact labels.

  1. Collect your numbers. Estimate minutes per month, peak concurrent calls and how many locations or lines you have.
  2. List integrations. Write down every system the agent must read from or write to.
  3. Book a scoping call. Synthflow scopes each contract around volume, telephony, integrations, security and launch support.
  4. Compare the quote. Turn the annual price into a cost per minute and compare it with self-serve tools in our calculator.
  5. Plan the launch. Agree on test calls, success measures and who updates the agent after launch.

Tips from setup

  • Ask for volume tiers in writing.
  • Ask what happens if you go over the contracted volume.

How do you calculate your Synthflow cost?

  1. What is your Synthflow quote per month, in US dollars?. Synthflow has no public price list, so enter the figure from your quote. Leave it at zero if you do not have one yet.
  2. How many calls do you expect a month?. We use this to work out what your quote means per unit, and what the same volume costs on tools with public prices.
  3. Read your answer. You see your cost per unit next to tools with public prices. Use it when you negotiate with Synthflow.

How should you budget for Synthflow?

Voice agents bill by the minute, so average call length drives your cost more than anything else. Add every layer: the platform fee, speech-to-text, text-to-speech, the AI model and the phone line. A rate that looks low can double once the other layers are included.

To budget for Synthflow, take your monthly call count and your real average call length from your phone system, then enter both in the calculator. Also count transfers, phone numbers and extra concurrent lines if you get calls at the same time. Test with real callers before you commit, because a chatty agent adds minutes to every call.

What to ask before you sign a Synthflow quote

Synthflow does not publish a full price list, so your cost depends on the quote you get. These questions help you compare it fairly with tools that do list prices:

  • What is the total first-year cost, including setup and onboarding fees?
  • What does the price include, and what is billed by usage on top?
  • Is the AI model included, or do we pay for it separately?
  • What happens if we go over our allowance? Is there a cap or an overage rate?
  • How long is the contract, and can we cancel or reduce it if usage is lower than expected?
  • How much will the price rise at renewal?
